Description
This extraordinary PRIM Kupka men's watch was originally created as a limited edition to commemorate an exhibition of the work of the world-famous Czech painter and graphic artist František Kupka. In honour of this important artist, a completely unique dial design was created, inspired by Kupka’s work. The design was created by the excellent graphic artist and co-owner of a collection of Kupka’s graphic works - Jiří Lammel. The watch became extremely popular with our customers, which is why a transparent edition was created later.
The original dial goes beyond watchmaking traditions. Its fine lines are harmoniously complemented by Kupka’s signature, which is asymmetrically placed on the line between the hands and the date window. The graphic balance is completed by the blued annealed hands and the non-traditional placement of the PRIM Automatic logo on the circumference of the dial´s second quadrant.
Watches that are part of the PRIM Automatic series are equipped with a high-quality Swiss movement with automatic winding. All the other components, such as the case, crown, hands and dial are made in our factory in Nové Město nad Metují. Models in this series are labelled PRIM AUTOMATIC. This designation is based on the history of the ELTON company - the dominant feature is the classic PRIM logo, as created by the designer Josef Žid in 1969, supplemented with the inscription “Automatic” in the form used since 1978 for watches with a modified automatic calibre. The PRIM Kupka 40 A features a case made of polished stainless steel, sapphire crystal glass and a cowhide strap. The transparent caseback offers a view of the mechanical movement.
